Eurorack CV and audio signals swing between −10V and +10V (20Vpp full scale). ±5V modules exist; set REF GAIN to 0.5× to match. The normalised ±1 internal range maps to this scale.

Consumer line level is typically −10dBV (0.316Vrms). Pro line level is +4dBu (1.228Vrms). Set REF V to match your interface's expected nominal level.
dBu vs dBV
dBu references 0.7746V (the voltage that delivers 1mW into 600Ω). dBV references 1V directly. For the same signal, dBu reads approximately 2.2dB higher than dBV.
Crest Factor
Peak ÷ RMS. A pure sine = 1.414 (√2). Square wave = 1.0. A high crest factor indicates transient-heavy or dynamic content. Relevant for headroom calculation.
RMS vs Peak
RMS represents perceived loudness and average power. Peak is instantaneous maximum. Gain staging decisions require both — RMS for level, peak for clipping headroom.
Phase Correlation
Coefficient of −1 = perfect antiphase (cancels in mono). 0 = uncorrelated stereo. +1 = identical channels (mono compatible). Values below 0 will cause mono sum cancellation.
